EVERY YEAR VFC and its employees have a big brain storming session to blow out holiday ideas for our clients, our company and ourselves. We discuss concepts for clever gifts, creative gatherings and unique, memorable greetings that were once called Christmas cards.
Now they are everything from email blasts to Twitter update parodies of the twelve days of Christmas with a valuable link provided each day.
All of the creatives in this shop have become conditioned to start thinking about holiday content early, jotting down ideas all year long. When Halloween approaches we salivate like Pavlov’s pooch and start planning in earnest.
That’s most years… this year Halloween came and went. Here comes Thanksgiving and we have not had a single client request to do something special for Christmas. Similarly we have not been too motivated to develop any greeting for VFC or our families. What has become a now famous Client, Vendor, Family and Friends Holiday Par-tay in the VFC studio remains, as of yet, unplanned.
Is it sad or is it SAD, read Seasonal Affectedness Disorder, or is the Grinch getting better at his job? Whatever it is the calendar is ticking and we need some cheerful motivation more than ideas!
